Linn Sondek

“Where we going?” The boy said anxiously.
“There's only one good Hi-fi shop in Middlesbrough, son.” The shop in question was Gilson Audio on Linthorpe Road. The son stood in this shop with £420 in his hand. It was considerable amount of money back in 1982. As he was only eight or nine years old so it was more than he'd had ever seen - let alone been trusted with. It was his father's Linn Sondek money. With the giant pile of money in his hand the son understood the Linn Sondek was the best turntable money could buy. Especially when he was told he could use it whenever he wanted. Music never excluded the boy - never got angry with him. No anger jumped and fretted like the records he, so easily, scratched. And so, the boy grew up to love music. |
